Fanatic

The definition of the word 'fanatic' is as follows:

"A person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics."

"A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause."

"A person affected by excessive enthusiasm, particularly on religious subjects."

"Marked by excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea."

Or: (and this is my personal favorite)

"insane person," from L. fanaticus "mad, enthusiastic, inspired by a god," originally, "pertaining to a temple," from fanum "temple," related to festus "festive".

Now why would I decide to define this word? Because I really wanted to know if I was a fanatic for music - all types and kinds - and true to the word, I am!

I really cant stress enough about how much music is saving me and occationally rescuing me from the shallow waters of a high school. Shallow pools of people also.

Last night I had to finish the book '1984' by George Orwell.

I pray and hope to the heavens that I will never have to open that book ever again.

Being an activist of individual rights and small government, this book was a task that really took some strength to finish.

I could have just gotten on cliffnotes.com and read the summary and not have been as badly disturbed as I was.

The book is filled with betrayal, physical violence that is so grafic that I really was bawling through the whole book. It also included some sex, but that wasnt graffic, thank heavens!!!

There were a lot of things that made me bawl - and I am using that term right how it is supposed to be used, I was crying really hard - in this book. The betrayal was the biggest I would have to say. The main character was continually betrayed, not only by his suspected friend, but also by his love and by a person that he didnt even know at all, but really did like till he turned out to be a member of the Thought Police.

Then the invasion of rights was the second factor in my break down.

They brain washed him! They broke him down - his spirit - and filled him with awful things, with themselves.

Here is an excerpt that shocked me to my core:
'What are the stars? They are bits of fire a few kilometers away. We could reach them if we wanted to. Or we could blot them out. The earth is the center of the universe. The sun and the stars go round it.'

That was said by the torturour O'Brien.

I

HATE

THIS

BOOK

The last two factors to the bawling experiance was the physical violence that was inflicted, not only to the main character, but to everyone around them.

And last but not least, Fear.

Fear that this kind of society would actually happen and that I might see the beginning of it. I dont believe that it will get as bad as the book depics, but it could head in that direction.

I am one of those people who can feel pain of someone else if it is described or only mentioned. I felt the main characters pain.

I felt it to my core.

So the savior of this dark damp day was music. Frou Frou to be exact. They mellowed me down and got me to think. They cleaned me out and then set me to dry, just like washing laundry. I was pissed. I was irate, and at nothing really, but it was a big deal to me and I was so angry that I had to read it!

I feel bad for anyone who has to read it and I really strongly suggest that if you can get out of reading it, do that.

I love you all!

Outlook

So my outlook on life has changed a bit.
Since this has been one of the hardest and most cruel month of my life, I have learned a couple of things. Here they are:

1. Dont trust people you dont know. Make sure you take all the precautions you can before letting anyone do anything to or for or with you.

2. Stuff is just stuff. You can get new stuff anytime:).

3. Boys never look more than 5 minutes a head in to the future for consequences.

4. Boys are relativily stupid. Dont take anything they say seriously till they are about 25.

5. When nothing is going your way and everything seems to be crashing down on you, one of the best things to do is Pray to Heavenly Father. Even if it seems like no one is listening - especially him.

6. My mother is one of the most amazing people I know! I love her so much and I just hope that I can be as great as her!

7. Seth is my rock. He helps me keep a grip on my sanity. The other night when I was crying - well more like bawling - about my iPod being stolen, he came in and completely made me laugh my head off. He is one of the greatest brothers and I dont know what I would do without him:)

8. My father is one of the funniest people I know, and I am so glad that I chose to be put into his family.

9. Being the oldest in the family has its drawbacks and its perks. I always get stuff first - Phone, iPod, Drivers Licence, car... etc.. etc. But I am the fall back girl if my parents need help. I always have to meet to the standards or else I get in trouble. Oh and I get away with murder;).

10. Family is very important.

11. Sleep is my favorite time of the day.

12. When people are so wrapped up in themselves that they cant see pain even if it bites them in the nose, they arent your true friends and sometimes its better to just be rid of them.

13. Music is my life and I love it:).

14. Im kinda like a 25 year old trapped in a 13 year olds world. I am so much more mature than anyone I know and yet I have to sink to their level of understanding sometimes to get anything through to them. I hate it!!! I just want to be done with High School!

15. There is a good chance that I am switching schools next year to either Woodscross or Davis. I am sick of Bountiful.

16. God doesnt forsake his children. When the door closes, a window does open.

17. Some of the geeky guys are more hilarious than the more popular guys:)

Well there you have it:) My life lessons in a nut shell!:)

Last Minute Thoughts:
1. I love chocolate:)
2. Im getting English Chocolate - directly from England!!! - in the mail:) Thats right! Be Jealous:):):).
3. I love my brother! Just a couple of sundays ago, we were looking for mom to go home and I asked if she was in the Relief Society room and he said "What do you think? A bunch of ladies coming off a spiritual high and you dont think mom would be in on that?" He cracks me up!!
4. Laughter is the best medicine.
5. Meetings that go over 1 hour are too long.
6. American Idol is only good till they go to Hollywood Week and then its stupid.
7. I love my phone:)
8. I love Bluetooth!:)
9. I really think blogging is good for the soul:)
10. I am starting my book! I dont know what its about or where the setting is but I know the characters:) they are formuated in my mind and they are so cool:)

Well I love you all and cant wait to see you in person!:)

I DONT KNOW WHAT MY PROBLEM IS!

So today.... well today I did something really stupid.
I left my iPod in my backpack.
Now usually this is a really safe place for it and I just have it there for when I need it - this is like every single class period cause I get my work done really early.
Well low and behold, I leave my back pack out in the gym locker rooms, and when I come back to dress:
Its Gone.
Along with my pack of gum and ten bucks in cash.
The worst thing is: The person is in my Gym class. I don't know who it is, but I know that they are in my class. I kinda screwed my self over with this one.

I ONCE SAID I WOULD DIE WITHOUT MY IPOD.
GOD IS OBVIOUSLY HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR.

I HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!
First goes my calculator and now goes my iPod. I am thanking my lucky -not so lucky really - stars that I put my phone in my locker where people couldn't get to it.
I would seriously be completely raging mad if I got that stolen too.

I really hate this.

If you know why this would happen or the lesson that I must learn from this please give me suggestions.
I have said many MANY times that music is my life and I completely stand by that statement. But when I cant escape to my Nirvana, I get pissy and moody and to tell ya the truth, I AM RIGHT NOW.

Ok.
I'm Done.
I hate this.
My life sucks at the moment.
This whole month has been a shit hole from the beginning.
I need to get a grip.

No Last Minute Thoughts today.
There would be a lot of expletives if I did do it.

I hate life,
Andie
